Agenda Set for Third Annual FCPUG Amsterdam SuperMeet

The agenda has  been set for the Third Annual FCPUG Amsterdam SuperMeet to be held Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the Hotel Krasnapolsky in the heart of Amsterdam during IBC week. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the SuperMeet site. Doors open at 16:30

Scheduled to appear will be Joran Maaswinkel, Senior Editor of Bake Post will join Autodesk’s Grant Kay to help demystify Smoke for Mac OSX. Grant will have his bag of tips and tricks with examples that range from pulling the impossible key to using 3D compositing tools to take your motion graphics to the next level. Grant and Joran will also show the latest in stereoscopic 3D editorial finishing – an out-of-the-box feature in Smoke.

Warren Eagles, a color artist for more than 20 years on movies such as The Great Raid and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, as well as TV series such as Rush, will give an in-depth look and demo at the new DaVinci Resolve for Mac, including workflow demos within Final Cut Pro."

Max Burgess, Offline/Online Editor at SpliceTV, one of the leading creative editors in London will showcase some incredible work edited on Avid Media Composer and shot with the RED Digital Cinema camera; Max will demonstrate some of the new features in Media Composer 5 and how these can benefit any editor on any platform; Avid will in turn demonstrate complete integrated workflow with Final Cut Pro.

The entire 2nd half of the show will be devoted to Final Cut Studio Tips & Tricks. Apple Master Trainer Abba Shapiro will host and will share numerous FCP tips and tricks, many of which you do not know and will not see unless you are at the SuperMeet. Abba will be joined on stage by the U.K.’s Simon Walker, Russia’s Andrei Nazarov and Germany’s Andrea Rüd.



Simon Walker will show how to animate text in Motion and FCP in just 10 minutes. Simon will be showing techniques in Motion that editors can use to create graphical sequences and flourishes, but to make them quickly, whilst also avoiding those evil keyframes!

Editor Andrei Nazarov who will also show off more FCS solutions.

Andrea Rüd, a Final Cut Pro Trainer, with more than 22 years editing experience, will show amazing time-saving technique for Editors to sync cameras and audio files in Final Cut Pro. She will demonstrate two workflows, with SD and Red cam material.

In addition there will be a show and tell from a local Netherlands filmmaker, and of course the “World Famous Raffle,” where over 40,000 Euros worth of valuable prizes will be handed out to dozens of lucky winners.

Doors will open at 16:30 with the SuperMeet Digital Showcase featuring over 20 software and hardware developers including Autodesk, Blackmagic Design, Avid, Adobe, Foundry, Genarts, Vimeo, RE:Vision Effects, Pond 5, G-Tech, Matrox, Noise Industries, CoreMelt, Pond 5, Singular Software, GET, Red Giant Software and many others.

As part of the Digital Showcase, there will be the inaugural "Open Screen Theater." Filmmakers and digital content creators wanting to "Get Seen" will have a 10 minute chance to do so in an informal, collaborative setting. Those who are shooting with DSLRS, camcorders, iPhones or anything that makes video, and who want to screen their content, can just show up and sign up, get up and show off. Sign-ups begin at 16:30 when the doors open and are open only to ticket holders.

Tickets are only 15.00 Euros each (includes 2 raffle tickets) for Adults and 10.00 Euros for students and are on sale online only. It will be 20.00 Euros each at the door.
