Sonnet’s Qio professional universal media reader/writer offers a convenient and cost-effective alternative to stand-alone card readers, controllers, and adapters.
The Qio features dual P2, SxS, and CompactFlash slots and the ability to transfer data from two or more cards concurrently, enabling users to offload files more quickly and efficiently, while an included adapter handles SDHC cards. The Qio copies files between any cards, attached drives, or host computer with aggregate bandwidth up to 250 MB/s. — much faster than what FireWire or USB adapters are capable of.
E4P SATA Host Controller Inside For quick migration of data, the Qio integrates a complete SATA controller based on Sonnet’s Tempo SATA E4P SATA controller card. Through four eSATA ports, users can connect two Sonnet Fusion F2 portable storage systems, or four drive enclosures with port multipliers or integrated RAID controllers, such as Sonnet’s Fusion D400QR5 and Fusion D500P, for access of up to 20 SATA drives.
Multiple slots for quick input and output The Qio enclosure connects to a computer through an included cable and either an ExpressCard/34 (for notebooks) or a PCIe (for desktops) interface adapter. The included adapter extends the computer’s PCIe bus outside the box, effectively adding expansion slots to the desktop. The reader/writer’s SxS slots also double as ExpressCard/34 slots, while the P2 slots are compatible with CardBus cards, including Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi, USB, FireWire, and more. For notebook users, this effectively sextuples the number of expansion card slots available, while enabling desktop users to swap adapter cards without the need for opening their computers’ cases.
Easy portability Designed for in-studio or on-location applications, the Qio sports a robust aluminum case that withstands heavy use. Taking up minimal space, the compact unit measures just 5.9” x 6.2”, while offering a slim 1.2” profile.
